Christian is the founder of InSilico Consulting AB. As Principal Consultant he helps our clients get the most out of their data. Previously he led the bioinformatics, data science, and IT efforts at a cancer diagnostics startup company working on precision medicine, genomics, and liquid biopsy. He is also affiliated with Lund University in Sweden where he continues to be involved in cancer research.
His main interest is in using computational methods and biological/medical data to improve our understanding and treatment of diseases. Many of Christian’s research projects, including his doctoral thesis, have been focused on cancer in humans. Additionally he works on improving open source bioinformatics and reproducible research infrastructure by contributing to projects such as conda-forge, Bioconda, and Biopython.
Over the past 20 years he has contributed to a number of open source software projects, most notably the FreeBSD computer operating system. A rough overview can be found on GitHub and OpenHub.
